TRAVELING

TIP#1: GET THE JUNK OUT OF THE TRUNK!

If you have a car; clear out the trunk/boot space. Driving around with unnecessary weight will use more fuel.

TIP#2: Bring bottle, cup and snacks

When you’re out and about, bring a reusable water bottle, coffee cup and snacks in your bag, to avoid buying drinks and snacks in single-use packaging.

TIP#3: WALKING

The greenest and cheapest way to travel short distances is by foot. Sometimes, it’s also the quickest. I used to get the car for errands but since we sold our diesel car I have to plan better and walk or use public transport.

TIP#4: CARPOOLING

If you give up owning a car (I know it’s not possible for everyone) there are ways to share or rent cars that are surprisingly easy and efficient.

TIP#5: FLYING GREEN

It’s difficult to claim low-carbon flying, but what you can do is choosing airline, aeroplane and route carefully. Look out for eco credentials, fuel efficiency and direct flights.
