RECYCLING
TIP#1: FOOD NOT WASTED
Food waste is a valuable resource for generating energy or creating nutritious compost. It’s awesome to think that my old food, tea bags and fruit peels make clean energy (through anaerobic digestion).
TIP#2: PRECIOUS DEVICES
Old phones and laptops can be valuable, whether they’re working or not. Many companies offer to pay for a broken handset as they can recycle precious metals and materials.
TIP#3: WEEE
Over 75% of "Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment", also called WEEE, ends up in a landfill. Remeber to recycle anything that uses a battery, plug or charger.
TIP#4: GREAT PAPER
All paper can be recycled; use paper bags for your recycling rather than plastic bags thrown in the blue-top bin.
TIP#5: NO JUNK MAIL
Reduce the amount of post you receive; put up a “No junk mail” sign, tell any mailing companies to remove your postal address and subscribe to newspapers electronically.
